Al Giovanni –
Stonemason
Al Giovanni’s design for The Grotto
fits well into the surroundings, making it part of the existing
nature and equally as inspirational. The extending low side
walls mimic the open arms of the Virgin Mary, inviting all to
come closer. Three stone benches allow a resting place for
quiet meditation.
Inside arch of the grotto, inlaid stones
are placed to radiate outward, symbolizing the aura around the
statue. Natural stone steps lead up to the pedestal and a large
stone holds the brass dedication plaque.
